Ron Mueck

    Ron Mueck is known for is realistic human subjects.Ron began to make photo realistic props and animatronics for advertising. Ron's earlier works were created from fiberglass. Then began to use silicone due to its extreme flexibility and is easier to shaping the human body.  His sculptures were designed sculptures were highly detailed to be photographed. Ron Mueck wanted to create realistic sculptures that look perfect from all angles. In 1996 Ron Mueck had made the decision to start working in fine art, while working with his mother-in-law.
    "Dead Dad" was created out of silicone and mixed media sculpture of the corpse of his father shrunk about 2/3 of its scale. With this finished product he decided to use his own hair. All of Mueck's sculptures have been focused on the detail of the human body. The only difference is the scale of the sculpture. The scale size is incredibly large.
