This contemporary artist is has become one of the most well known artists of the 20th century. He is also known for his reproductions of balloon animals produced from stainless steel with a mirror finished surface. His work has sold for the highest price sold for a work. The art is titled " Ballon Flower". There are many different views on how people feel about this artist. Some enjoy his work others laugh at it. He ended up setting up a factory where he hired over 30 assistants that helped reproduced his ideas faster. Each assistant was assigned a differed aspect of producing Koons works.
Jeff Koons early works came in the form of conceptual sculpture. An example of this is the Equilibrium series that was created in 1985. He has had photos taken and put into advertisements for an international art magazine. From here he began to sculpt his pieces larger and larger. Other materials he would use include porcelain. Another famous works of Jeff Koons is "Puppy". This work was commissioned in 1992 for an art gallery exhibition is Germany. "Puppy" is 43 ft tall and covered in a variety of flowers on a steel structure.
