Marc Quinn

Quinn began to emerge into the Art world in 1990. Marc Quinn's work mainly sculpture has to do with the distant relationship we have with our bodies. But he also does, paintings, prints and drawings.  A lot of his works focus on the anatomy of the body including our DNA. After a while Marc Quinn begins to design and make his own accessories and clothes. He has also commission his own line that involves scarves, T-shirts, white gold jewelry and they are all limited edition. Key themes in Quinn's works include genetic modification and hybridism.
The "Self" is a self portrait of Marc Quinn. This piece of work is very famous in the art world.   Marc Quinn has taken 4.5 liters of his blood to use to sculpt this head. He had taken a process which lasted over 5 months. This work is always refrigerated reminding the audience and the view of the existence it is in.
